As soon as the episode began, I couldn’t stop smiling. It felt great to be back in this crazy world. With a 90-minute premiere, it was like watching a movie I had been waiting over three years to see.
The episode started with a lot of heartwarming reunions, and I laughed seeing my favorite characters together again. It felt like the show was shouting, "We’re back!" and I was ready for it.
The episode didn’t feel slow, which was a relief. Unlike some other shows, Re:Zero got right to the point, putting all the important conversations at the beginning. This way, the rest of the season can dive into more serious stuff. I loved how all the sub-plots were connected smoothly without making me feel bored or lost. The writing was really well done.
One moment that stood out was when Subaru felt a bit uncomfortable around the other knights. I could feel how awkward he was, and it made the scene feel real. Plus, the new character Liliana was full of energy and fun, and I’m excited to see how she adds to the story.
Now, the setting really impressed me. The city of Priestella was inspired by Venice, and it looked amazing. The canals, the gondolas, and Subaru’s comment about the city being like a maze made it feel like a fantasy version of Venice. The beautiful sunsets and detailed scenery made me feel like I was really there.
As I watched, I felt the same excitement as Mimi did when seeing Garfield. That joy matched mine, especially when the city’s beauty was shown on screen.
To sum it up, if I had to describe this episode, it would be with the phrase "Enjoy life while you can." The first hour and 20 minutes built up everything perfectly, and the last 10 minutes reminded me why I love Re:Zero so much.
